Colin Wood Biography

 

Colin is 43 years old, with over 20 years of experience in theatre, corporate and television lighting design and programming.  Colin's first started out in the industry as a Theatre Technician at the Redgrave Theatre in Bristol.  Following his studies at university, he then accepted a position with P&O Cruises as Deputy Production Manager.  After three exciting years travelling all over the world Colin decided to leave to pursue a freelance career in Lighting Design, Programming and Production Electrics.

Colin has programmed the lighting for TV shows such as Beat Shazam; Don’t Forget The Lyrics; I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here; Love Island; Dancing With The Stars (Ireland); Paul Sinha's TV Showdown; MTV Europe Music Awards; Mel Giedroyc’s Unforgivable and Channel 4’s Alternative Election Night.

As a lighting operator, Colin has worked on shows such as The Hit List; The 1% Club; The Wall; Richard Osman's House of Games; Revolution; Catchphrase; Lingo; The Circle; The Mo Show; Britain’s Brightest Celebrity Family and Alan Carr’s Celebrity Re-Play.

In addition to working as a lighting designer and programmer, Colin is the UK trainer for the HOG 4 family of lighting consoles, working closely with High End Systems and ETC.  Colin also created all of the original HOG 4 training videos for High End Systems which can be found on this website, as well as a newer series which can be found on the ETC / High End Systems website.
